    • I work on the limits, the tensions and the fragilities of the contemporary society. It concerns me the point or the moment where elements, individuals or situations confront to each other and they have to deal what is the position to take to be in harmony, or emphasize the friction between them. It is in this point where fragility becomes a beautiful force to itself to create a new scope for the achievement. Inside these fissures I find the main ideas of my work. I take these frictions carefully and thought about them from distance, where the vulnerability is susceptible of being penetrated and transformed in powerful by the form of an artpiece. I concentrate on the material or the substance in its natural state; the reflex in the raw, still not treated or purified material, and I transmute it into a creative form. The main idea of my work is to show these concepts as strong qualities which transform the differences or resistances inside these relations into skills of growing in one and in the collective knowledge. For what I look essentially is to transform the invisible thing; the emotions, the thoughts, the feelings and the vibrations into symbols, objects, sounds and images or a composition of them. • I express myself through single-channel video, video installation, and video combined with art. These are empathetic tools that help me better reflect circumstances that are otherwise hard to assimilate or understand, sometimes due to our own ignorance about ourselves, given the little interest we have in introspection or, simply, due to the fear of knowing how we actually are in our most intimate beings. In my case my work has always centred on video, videointalations, photo, drawings, boxes and objects which for me reflect more easily those sensations or feelings which are dificult to assimilate or undenstand because of our own ignorance or lack of experience. My idea is to continue working on artistics projects with this philosophy in mind and make the public feel those rich, pure sensations and help them reflect on their own emotional situation. Love, but also fear, pleasure, anguish, happiness, anxiety and doubt, among other emotions, all make up part of my work. I hope in some way to de-dramatize the situations and eliminate their aggressive tone, so that the viewer doesn't feel them directly, but rather reflects and understands their meaning, the reason for their existence.

    • I think that… Art ... is intimate, sincere. Art which moves me, makes shake me and which makes shake you, which contains emotions and feelings ... that's what makes vibrate me when I paint and when I ´m back-front of the camera. Art ... which hides my vital need, my way of being, of behaving ... a way of life. I´m interested in the art which i can feel more than the art which is thought and this's what I try to express with "my art". I like to tell stories, describe situations either through video or colors in my hands; discern feelings of different experiences in my life, so many emotions! ... My art is more sensual than intellectual, in the most authentic and pure definition of "sensual". In my paintings and illustrations you can see influences from various styles like impressionist painting, art brut, pop art, naive painting, shamanic art, rock art, street art ... In my videos: Corporeal Identity. I consider that the most important is talent specific to each person which expressing through different techniques and different formats on their personal experiences. I´m influenced and identified in the painting with artists as Henri Rousseau(“Woman Walking in Exotic Forest”),Vincent Van Gogh(“La noche estrellada”, “Des sterrennacht”),Edvard Munch(“Moonlight”), Auguste Herbin(“Bailleux II”),Vilmos Huszár(“Vincent”), Max Ernst(“Paysage avec lune”),Victor Brauner(“Gemini”), Karel Appel(“Grito de libertad”),Yayoi Kusama, Sue Williams(“Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Woman”), Jean Michel Basquiat(“Carbon/ Oxygen”),Rigo 23 … In video artists as Marina Abramovic, Dan Graham, Doug Aitken, Gary Hill, Robert Cahen, Peter Campus, Clearbout, Candice Breitz, Tony Oursler, Aernout Mik … And finally in dance Laban, Carolyn Carlson, Pina Bausch, Mª José Ribot… www.carmenesplaespejo.blogspot.com

    • I am interested in working with the structural elements of painting to create an image that extends beyond the limits of picture. I use the wall as a large canvas extending the limits of the painting outside the frame. The painting in this way makes the viewer see the wall as a part of it.

    • Design, design, and more design. For more than 8 years my professional life has been the creation of images, the investigation of new technologies and the adaptation to different mediums. The Internet has given me everything I’ve needed to continually enjoy my work. Boredom is not an option; not when the nature of what you work with is constant change and development. And that’s what my profession is, an activity that I enjoy daily. I think my work consists of understanding everything in its individual parts in order to later combine them in an aesthetic and functional way. Because of this I’ve developed the ability to see the essence of different people with different interests and a great variety of talents. What I like most in this life is my work, which aside from being enjoyable, requires constant learning.

    • My work has a social and political commitment context through a critical and ironic dialogue. It is based on an active participation, a continuous process of learning, research and of transdisciplinary creation both collective and individual. It reflects around geographical and cultural borders, limitations, barriers, behavior, etc. Questioning the limits of the body –as a border- social prejudice and the difficulties that it entails in human relationships. I also work around the figure of the woman artist, heroin and migrant in transit, social violence and the constant struggle to survive in a hostile environment. On how the female image became powerful within the erotic and the market as a reflection on how cultural identities are constructed through certain stereotypes and patterns of popular mythologies.

    • visual artist who uses video and film as tools and documentary as language. he works with elements coming directly from reality to develop artistic works between documentary, experimental film and poetry. regarding the audiovisual construction acts as a sort of architect who knows that the framework is the key element of its building. raising a point of view is like building a space, both tasks can end up defining a vision: those of us who get into the room cinema, see what the camera shows us, and therefore, we will and we will embody that person who sees these things. in this sense, the work of chus domínguez makes it clear performative process that makes certain that, in the screen, we build as a look such as a concrete subjectivity. as we see in the film becomes more or less accidental and accessory, and what is important is where he puts us who are in the cinema room.

    • I examine family interaction through non-verbal communication. By implimenting deliberate and acute editing, I deconstruct my documentary video footage - separating and reconfiguring individual elements in the imagery, uncovering communication that often goes unseen. Almost eight years ago, I was reunited with my biological family after being given up for adoption as an infant. This connection pushed me to examine kin relationships: looking at cultural similarities and differences, deciphering how I fit into each of my families (biological and adopted), and how my newly contacted biological family fit into mine. Consequently, my practice is based on experimenting with visual material, exploring cultural parallels.
