    • I see a work of art as a kind of dream, a matter, which in its silent vagueness conveys what sometimes clear conceptual thinking cannot communicate and is otherwise inexpressible. Paradoxically the most important think in a visual work of art – its spirit – is actually invisible. I always need to get involved emotionally and mentally with a subject in order to start exploring it through the means of art. Usually such involvement results in a series of works that often evolve through the years. However the things I am interested in are the idea, the principle, the type, and the relationship between man and environment. In this sense, even when I paint concrete objects, I am an abstract artist, as far as “to abstract” means to remove or subsume concrete details with the purpose of reaching a more general idea.

    • I share the idea of an art that creates new reality instead of offering its conventional model. I want to provoke the birth of view that goes beyond the boundary of reality itself. Viewpoints which stress an order that exists "a priory" in nature and can be developed again and again… Aspect that makes the work to exist as a signal, giving the onlooker a chance to go deep into his/her life experience and mind. Universal signals to which the individual responds in a unique manner and creates his/her own reality.

    • My work has a social and political commitment context through a critical and ironic dialogue. It is based on an active participation, a continuous process of learning, research and of transdisciplinary creation both collective and individual. It reflects around geographical and cultural borders, limitations, barriers, behavior, etc. Questioning the limits of the body –as a border- social prejudice and the difficulties that it entails in human relationships. I also work around the figure of the woman artist, heroin and migrant in transit, social violence and the constant struggle to survive in a hostile environment. On how the female image became powerful within the erotic and the market as a reflection on how cultural identities are constructed through certain stereotypes and patterns of popular mythologies.

    • "According to my own system and logic, I am interested in identifying an emotional and spiritual world". Mixed media artist ( installations, collages, video, public space projects ) Joanneke Meester (NL,1966) collaborating for ten years in an artist collective, which dedicated itself primarily to realising large-scale works in the public space. Since 2002 Joanneke Meester focuses on the development of personal, autonomous work. She studied at the Fine Art Academy and the Sandberg Institute ( masters of the Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy ) in Amsterdam. Her works are fragments, literally cut outs, of her thoughts, emotions, inspirations and actions with regards to the world she lives in. In 2004 she gained international fame with a pistol she made with her own skin. Her previous installations, sculptures and videos are the result of research into the subcutaneous violence, present in every human being. In her recent works she still addresses existential issues regarding violence, identity, daily life and imagination. Her new text-based works are appropriated from existing fragments of historical correspondence. The remains of the titles of the works are cut out of several materials, such as textile, cardboard, plastic, canvas, paper, etc. As the remains of derivative words there is a connection with language. This "new" created abstract world is more detached from the communication in the form we know it. So there is more space for the imagination and it creates a language with less limitations. Joanneke Meester produces works are presented in public space and at different international art institutions, galleries and museums including the Centre Pompidou, Moca Shanghai, Hara Tokyo. Her video works are included in the traveling collection of the Viva collections on tour.

    • Pier Giorgio De Pinto is a transdisciplinary artist, a performer, a curator, a theorist and a media trainer. De Pinto strongly uses new media as a “thinking medium” in which involves the audience, creating performative experiences and immersive environments. His projects usually involve others – musicians, choreographers and artists – from different cultural backgrounds, styles and identity genres. These collaborations enable De Pinto to undertake new and radical experimental projects, capable of stimulating discussion about stereotypes and prejudices, asking awkward questions in the areas of culture, politics and religion.

    • Taking the landscape and environment as a starting point, I have been exploring interrelations between the perceived, depicted and described. The major themes has been; pictorial traditions and the articulation of the transformation from the three dimensional into the picture plane and vice versa, the landscape in relation to visibility and change, especially as mediated by culture or technology, as well as ideas of the vanishing, disappearing and almost not perceivable and the desires these might evoke.
